The famous NDSM Wharf in the North of Amsterdam inspired the designers of studio APE for the NDSM chair. The wharf is known for its iconic dock cranes that have become a distinctive part of the areas industrial aesthetic and cultural heritage. The wooden chairs legs are a direct reference to the dock cranes, and a ship's hull formed the inspiration behind the perfect rounded backrest.
